How was SPIKEY ™ created!?
Sifu Sapir Tal (born in 1966) has been practicing martial arts since he was 7 years old and has been teaching it since he was 29. He is a disciple of grandmaster Henry Poo Yee. For many years, Sifu Sapir dedicated himself to teaching traditional Kung Fu and tactical skills to martial arts students, soldiers, police officers, correctional officers, members of several intelligence bureaus, bodyguards, etc.
Two decades ago, one of Sifu Sapir’s female students bravely averted a rapist by using the Kung Fu he had taught her. Considering the noticeable skills and bravery of that 14-year-old teenager, Sifu Sapir realized she was capable of such because of her several years of strict training in traditional Kung Fu. However, what should a woman or a girl do when they have not acquired such specialized skills in the first place? How could women deal with potential sexual predators without extensive training in martial arts?
Those ideas led Sifu Sapur to developing Spikey, originally conceived as a self-defense tool for women. Spikey tool, patented worldwide, evolved together with a self-defense course intended for women. Soon both Spikey tool and system were enhanced and modified to meet the special needs of martial arts practitioners, police officers, correctional officers, special forces, intelligence bureaus, bodyguards, etc.
What is the purpose of having SPIKEY™, a defense instrument!?
The name SPIKEY™ comes from the “spikes” that come out of your hand when you grab it. Those are thick and have rounded edges to make them non-lethal under normal circumstances (in a way that you do not run the risk of seriously injure or even kill somebody). However, those spikes may cause a lot of pain to a potential offender that intends to harm you. When those spikes are in your hand, the strength behind your defensive movements increases several times! Even a 250-pound black belt can be forced to let go a victim with SPIKEY ™.
SPIKEY ™ was designed to look casual and modern. It is light and works as a key chain, if you wish so. It cannot cause unintentional damage and will not harm anybody, unless you decide to use intentionally to defend yourself. It is available in several designs and colors in order to meet your personal expression and match your style.

As every Israeli citizen, Rafi Green joined the military service – Israel Defense Forces (IDF) – when he was 18. He was very successful and rose through the rank for his patriotism, dedication and persistence. Those characteristics have accompanied him since. In the army, he passed the Marine Command training test and served in combat zones in the post-war period. In sequence, he passed the training tests for Special Groups and Counter-terrorism at Wingate Institute.
He started acting in a covert, intelligent way. This expert started defending his country in the fight against terrorist organizations and militias, acting in urban areas, public areas, demonstrations and public transport, among others.
For better individual and group performance, he developed and helped developing covert security procedures for public transport and other environments. He also specialized in personal defense and in the Israeli armed security system.
When he left the Israel Defense Forces, Rafi took all his experience to the civil life, being always professional, highly focused and diligent.
In Brasil
Social responsibility and love for Brazil. Rafi also brought teachings and the military doctrine to Brazil, always aimed at security and safe behavior for the citizen and public security forces of the country he adopted as his own. For his courses, he developed techniques and adapted the Israeli defense system to both civil and military audiences, always considering Brazilian characteristics and environment. His courses on Armed Defense and Hand-To-Hand Defense With Spikey Defense System bring the principles of defense to the home and prevention to all family, in their daily life, if they find themselves under risk of kidnapping or a simple act of urban violence. For all the work and engagement to his new country, state and city, Rafi was recognized by federal, state and municipal authorities, which granted him with the Citizenship of Belo Horizonte and the following diplomas:
